I thought today about how those first Europeans, from whom I descend, must have felt when they ‘discovered’ the New World. I was imagining that they said to each other after getting the lay of the land, “Wow, there’s so much land and resources here that we can’t possible screw this pooch!”. Newsflash, we’re done here. Sure we’ll hang on for another, what, couple hundred years maybe?

I love this country, and I even like some of the people that live here. Nonetheless, Sean Penn already made this movie, and it’s called Dead Man Walking. I realize after writing those words that I am marked for labeling. I am now someone who is somehow un-American, or something similarly silly. The way I see it, though, is that I love this country and I hate what we’re doing to it and what is happening to my fellow citizens.

Let’s not get hung up on whether I’m a Democrat or Republican or anything remotely political. I am not a political person. I frankly don’t care what the color is of the person that drives the bus, I just care about driving ability. More importantly, I’m not even thinking about anything that is relevant on that tiny scale.

I look around this country, and this world for that matter, and I see far too many people becoming weaker rather than stronger. Some people are actually starving to death for lack of food, and other people are starving to death for lack of anything worth surviving for. I’ll limit my comments to my own country, America, and state that my idea is simple. Put your TV in your car, and drive the damn thing straight into a f#@$ing brick wall!

Of course, I’m a hypocrite since I still use my car to do things. No buts here, I’m probably getting weaker along with the rest of you losers. Still, we can talk about this can’t we? I mean, once we’re extinct and the machines or the cockroaches are in charge, maybe they’ll still be reading this blog. We could help them out, ya know? Don’t get weak!

I rant more in the evening as opposed to the morning. When I first wake up, I’m feeling more optimistic about things. By the end of the day, I’m feeling more realistic. That’s what living in America tends to do to people.

Still, let’s try and finish up on a high note, shall we? Here’s my solution… everybody take responsibility for something today. That’s what has really got my goat. Everybody, and I’m not excluding myself, wants to avoid responsibility for EVERYTHING! That’s lame, ladies and gentlemen. The American way has become one which says, “Hey, I just don’t UNDERSTAND why I should take responsibility for this”. What that means is that we as a people have become willfully stupid, and once you have your blinker on for that exit, you might as well take off your seat belt, because evolution ain’t gonna save your ass no matter what.
